The LEARN Hub Proposal
Fall 2011
In two months I rallied 40 letters of support and 71 petition signatures from the local community in an unsuccessful effort to bid for a building in downtown Guelph to use as a collaborative workspace for social change. More information available on the blog I created during my campaign.

Occupy Guelph
October 2011
Days before Occupy Canada began I wrote a Facebook Note about how to keep safe during the anticipated large scale demonstration. This letter was quoted in the Huffington Post, re-blogged on the Occupy Toronto page, and shared on Facebook 365 times.
I was an active "helper" for the Guelph Occupy camp which started the same day I moved into Freedom House by bringing supplies and keeping sleeping bags dry, and visited the Toronto site twice to understand and learn the use of community self-governing practices. Although I never spent a night at any of the camps, my interactions with them inspired many feelings about communities gathering for change.
